One minor quibble...

I tried to create another profile/login for the message boards... but it won't let me.

It appears that you can't have multiple logins tied to the same email address.

I'd like to have posts written for/about Maetel separate from the ones for/about the Kitsune Foundation... so am I required to make a new email address for her too?

You are correct. Only one email account can be tied to a user. Unfortunately you will have to have an additional one to register the new user.
