Taste of RhyDin 2024 - Culinary Demonstrations

Som of RhyDin’s finest culinary masters will be coming to the RhyDin Observatory Complex & Botanical Garden to share a few of their personal favorite recipes and the stories behind them! These demonstrations are open to all and will be held in the Ariana MacGyldren Culinary Arts Center on the second floor of the observatory complex building, and will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

For those unable to attend a desired session in person, they will be record and made available through the ROCBG site.

Schedule

Sunday 7/21 - Chefs Jack Dawkins (Twist at the Golden Pearl) and Ar’zhan (Ar’zhan’s Seafod Grill) will swap fish stories and each will try their hand at the other’s signature dish. Anyoner up for ice duck?

Monday 7/22 - Get ready to rock and roll! Roll sushi, that is, as The Rockin’ Ronin’s own Hiro Okada demonstrates the proper way to prepare sushi in its many varieties.

Tuesday 7/23 - The dwarven chef Seamus Fireforge regales his audience with thr best ways to hunt and prepare wyvern in a number of dishes, including his famous goulash. Come and learn how to properly make use of the poison from a wyvern’s stinger without killinhg your guests.

Wednesday 7/24 - The lovely and talented Valentina Eglantine Mereliot Helston al Tan shares some tricks of the chocolatier trade. Will she, perhaps what inspired some of Mont Sucre’s Kiss & Tell line of chocolates?

Thursday 7/25 - Xian Leung takes over the kitchen to demonstrate some of her family’s old and well-honed stir-fry recipes that made the venerable Old Temple restaurant Wang Leung’s Chinese the neighborhood favorite it is today.

Friday 7/26 - It’s pastry time as our very own Governor, Gatito Lindo, gives a masterclass in macarons and many other delicacies that have made Kitten’s Confections the go-to place for sweet treats.

Saturday 7/27 - The creative mind behind Tiki Tacos wraps up the week with the story of their inspiration for a fusion of Polynesian and Mexican cuisines, and how you may find your own culinary muse for a fusion of different styles into something new and delicious!
