The Rhy'Din Citywide Trick or Treat Night

Festivities begin near sundown on the evening of Saturday, October 29th! Get the youngsters ready in their cutest or spookiest costumes and arm them with the largest candy collecting sacks you can find. Decorate your houses and get ready to hand out sweets, treats, or trinkets to any little ghouls who might come knocking on your door. The citywide sprint begins when the clock tower bell tolls the sixth hour of the evening, and will proceed throughout the night for a minimum of two hours. Every trick-or-treater who visits the Governor's mansion will be given a special treat and trinket filled goodie box, with a variety of options for the dietary needs of all peoples. (Rumors abound that there will also be adult goodie bags containing miniature bottles of booze and candies as well.) Cups of hot cider, cocoa, or coffee will also be available to energize visitors should they need it.
Gardenhome Orchards will be hosting Trick or Treaters, afterward, for a hauntingly good time of pumpkin picking and stories told around the campfire. A variety of foods and drinks will be available for all to enjoy. Those unable to attend that wish to contribute a story are asked to contact one of the following: Maggie Harker, Minister of Children's Services; Rhiannon Brock Túr Gairdín, Minister of Health; or Eregor Túr Gairdín, primary proprietor of the orchard for details on recording your story for others to hear. Weather permitting, tents and camping gear will be available for those that wish to have an overnight stay. Parents and adult caregivers who will not be staying are asked to arrange supervision for your own children for the overnight. Those involved in the Rhydin Big Siblings Program are welcome to accompany their younger companions or invite their elder ones for the overnight.

(( This is not a live event. Participation is completely optional but encouraged. Everyone is welcome to post to this thread such things as how their characters may have decorated their houses or businesses, what sorts of treats they are handing out, how their characters and/or the children of those characters have dressed up for the evening, and even if they may be tricking other people (with their permission) such as toilet papering the trees. References may also be mentioned in live play. The only limit is your own imagination with respect to your fellow writers. This event is inspired by my own city's annual Trick or Treat night that is always held on the last Saturday of October, and it is my hope it will continue to be an annual fictional event in our community as well. Enjoy and Happy Halloween! ))
