Eleven Outrageous Days at the Overlook

Bring your buttons and bottle caps, and leave your pants at home! It’s time for another annual unbirthday celebration in honor of former Rhydin Governor, Rekah Illyriana! The Warden of Overlook, Salvador Delahada, is opening the estate up to the public for eleven outrageous days of partying beginning the evening of February the 27th, prior to the Battlefield Park Challenge!

This party begins at sunset and will last until sunup on the eleventh day (March 9th). Come early and stay late, night after night after night! Grab yourself a key from the front desk and claim yourself a temporary sanctuary. All rooms during this week-and-a-half long event will be free of charge, and the TerraMaster himself will foot the bill for all room service fees. Additionally, the grand ballroom will be extravagantly catered from the 28th through the 1st with a menu designed by last year’s Madness Champion Gatito Lindo.

This year’s theme is buttons, the unbirthday girl’s currency of choice! Bring in any spares you may have on hand and trade them in for your choice of the many sweets and treats done in their design. Maple candies have been supplied by Elaine Aqua. Button sugar cookies and macarons done by the cooperative efforts of Kitten’s Confections and the Divine Delights Bakery. Button cupcakes and a large, feature, button cake done by Ariana MacGyldren.

Fun abounds! Live DJs will take turns filling the halls with music all week-and-a-half long. The bar will be open to provide refreshments of all sorts, absolutely free of charge! Engage in a scavenger hunt! Take turns sliding down the slopes of the mountain in sleds and toboggans purchased from The Surf Snow Shop in Seaside! Then come back inside and sip some cocoa or coffee, huddled comfy cozy around the fire with family and friends.

Did you bring a gift for the unbirthday girl? Feel free to leave it in the care of the resident crocodile. Gallo is acting chief of security throughout the festivities. He and the Silent Ones* will ensure all guests have a safe and memorable time, and that Rekah’s presents will be well cared for before being delivered to her at a later time.

*The Silent Ones are a pack of eerily soundless cu sidhe, or faerie hounds, that are loyal to Salvador.
They do not bray nor bark, and are frighteningly efficient hunters.

(Cornbread waffles, smoked pork, sweet and spicy slaw, sour pickles,
and your choice of BBQ sauce)

Fried Chicken Wafflewich
(Buttermilk waffles, regular or spicy fried chicken tenders, applewood smoked bacon,
sweet pickles, and maple-bourbon syrup)

The Falaffle
(Falafel waffles, cumin roasted cauliflower, za’atar roasted garlic hummus, pickled onions,
tomato-cucumber salad, feta, and a drizzle of tzatziki)


All sandwiches come with your choice of waffle fries, sweet potato waffle fries, coleslaw, or salad.






Dinners

Classic Brinner
(Buttermilk waffles with your choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, eggs cooked to order,
and fresh fruit, plus all the butter, maple syrup, jam, or fruit syrup you desire)

Chicken Mac ’n’ Chaffle
(Fried chicken tenders with your choice of dipping sauce, mac ’n’ cheese waffles,
and coleslaw or green beans)

Loaded Potato Waffles
(Shredded potatoes cooked in the waffle iron, then topped with butter, sour cream, bacon, cheddar,
and chives, with pulled pork available upon request; served with a side salad)






Desserts

Waffle Sundaes
(Brownie batter, birthday cake, or snickerdoodle waffles with your choice of ice cream; your choice of fresh fruit;
chocolate, caramel, or fruit syrups; whipped cream; chopped nuts or sprinkles; and a maraschino cherry)

S’mores Waffle Sandwiches
(Honey-vanilla graham-flour waffles filled with toasted marshmallow fluff and dark and milk chocolate, served warm and gooey)

Waffle Iron Churros
(Cinnamon sugar waffle sticks with dark chocolate dipping sauce)

Waffle Iron Donuts
(Yeasty donut sticks with sweet vanilla or chocolate glaze and sprinkles)

In addition to the featured desserts, there will be plenty of cake, sugar cookies, macarons, and candies of all sorts available throughout the celebration.

Though the above menu is offered exclusively from 28 February through 1 March, the kitchen at Overlook will be open every day during the celebration, ensuring guests are fed.
