Winterfest 2021: The Candlelight Processional Holiday Parade (Dec 15th)

Post by Strawberry »

The Candlelight Processional Holiday Parade
(Wednesday December 15th)

Enjoy a candlelit parade at dusk through Dragon’s Gate and Old Temple, led by a Santa-esque master of ceremonies who will narrate the stories of yule interspersed with stirring songs of hope and joy performed by a marching orchestra, band, and massed choir. Area businesses, schools, and organizations are welcome to enter the parade as well, which will begin at the Red Dragon Inn and end at the Old Temple’s Winter Wonderland. Nevermelt Ice trophies will be given out to the top three entries in the parade with special consideration given to those who fit the theme of ‘Candlelight Processional’.

Parade entrants are encouraged to arrive one hour before dusk in order to properly line up for the procession through Dragon’s Gate, over the Eastbridge, and through Old Temple. Spectators are welcome to find seats anywhere along the parade route. Bring candles for extra ambience!

((Just your run of the mill holiday parade. Open to any and all, whether you want to advertise a business, a charity, or a school. Post entries or attendance here!))

Staff of Nicole's Bistro and Pizzeria, dressed as Santa's elves, were riding in a gingerbread house float. Along the parade route, they were giving out samples of gingerbread and magically created edible chocolate mugs filled with hot chocolate, tea, coffee, warmed cider, or Nicole's signature dessert, Death by Chocolate ala Colleen.

((Instructions for making actual edible mugs are here.))
