Retirement from DoS Staff following Madness

Post by PC »

Hi everyone! I've had the pleasure of working on the Duel of Swords for a little over two years, and now I'm in the process of stepping down. Once I finish running this year's Madness tournament, I'll be stepping down from the sport, while remaining on staff as Duel of Magic AC (Royal).

That means we're on the lookout for new DoS staff! As coordinator I have been responsible for managing the rules, challenges, and cyclical tournaments; posting headlines and updating histories; identifying new staff; and monitoring the overall health and OOC discussion of the sport. If you're interested in joining the Duel of Swords staff in any capacity, please reach out to me or a member of our board-- Mallory, Kalamere, Jake, and Eden Parker.

Thank you for everything you've done over the last couple of years. You've done amazing work, and been hugely instrumental in the running of the sport and our transition to Discord and the updated site. You've done amazing work in Duel of Magic, too, and I'm happy to see you continuing there.

I just want to publicly express my gratitude for all of the things PC/Saya has done —Dueling Houses, Tournaments, Themed Months/Nights, Madness and so much more. I am so grateful that you are staying on with our DoM team. You are an incredible part of our staff team!

I'm old. Matt's got nothing on me.

So, if I don't remember who you were, forgive me.

But I do thank you for what you have done. You've brought the old man back into dueling.
I blame you, of course :)

But really.. thank you.

PC has been responsible for so much activity and involvement not only on this website and our former, but in the transition to Discord, and the managing of not only DoS for two years, but being a part of the DoM team as well for several years. There was a mountainous task involved in the creation of this website in particular, and he continuously has gone above and beyond in doing not only what was asked of him, but what was expected of him, and what he could see desperately needed a helping hand in. You wouldn’t have DoS where it is today if it weren’t for him. You wouldn’t have lossless in the sports if it weren’t for him. You wouldn’t have seen Dueling Houses if it weren’t for him. You wouldn’t have The Hunter’s Guild, the Lucky Rabbit Lotto, the Twilight Isle map, and countless other creations that he has either spearheaded, created or been deeply involved in. And this is just me listing what he’s been doing for the past couple of years.

He is and has been a vital part of staff, the board and is an incredible team player. He shares in my desire to help create and run a game that its community not only enjoys but gets excitedly pulled back into (See Tass’s thanks and blame above). He is my favorite partner in crime, and I am very happy to (continue to) move forward with him still at my side in DoM.

I can’t quite put the rest into words man, so this will have to do it justice.
