The Underground Rave is coming...

The fae have taken over a huge cavern deep within the bowels of the city to host their monthly rave for one and all to attend.

From the heart of The Underground, narrow, dark paths marked by illuminated footprints spill out onto landings far above the cavern floor with stairs and steep ramps carved of rock or made of wood and ropes draw those in search of a thrill down into the pit.





The ceiling is dotted with bioluminescent creatures and crystal stacalites which reflect the wild and pulsing lights of the rave every which way. Dark pools dot the dance floor, glimmering, calling to party-goers to join in a swim despite the dangers lurking within their dark depths. Others dance beneath the crashing waterfalls that fill them. Reigning over the stone dance floor, musicians are stationed on several towering edifices, a strange combination of drummers beating out a tribal cadence and a DJ blasting a booming base.






There are kiosks lining one wall of the cavern with fae peddling laced consumables in exchange for a gift. They are willing to accept many kinds: a coin (if they must), a song, a smile, trinkets, promises, vows, and bargains. Some they’ll give a taste to before extracting their toll. There is a wide variety of consumables to choose from--drinks, candy, pills, edible flowers and plants, and tables laden with deserts--with many different effects. Take a bite and roll the dice to see what happens:

• 1. The ability to see through glamour and/or the ability to cast glamour
  2. The ability to see shapes/visions created by the music or the shape of music itself
  3. Different types of highs: hallucinogenic or subdued/mellow
  4. Different “magical” abilities: super strength, super speed, the ability to fly
  5. Visions of the past/future/it’s really unclear what I’m seeing
  6. Absolutely nothing!

Each reaction lasts anywhere from 5 minutes to hours depending on the amount ingested, the maker, and the physiology of the raver.

Additionally, there is a table with bowls and pots of different paint laced with pixie dust and faerie powder. Bioluminescent and glittery, much of it is designed to saturate the skin, acting like a drug once it hits the bloodstream.




For those tired of dancing, arches lead to hidden alcoves large and small with creatures beckoning to party-goers at their entrance. Some are filled with moss covered rock seats and tables over which people play cards, ply illegal wares, or simple enjoy a drink. In others, musicians fill the air with enchanting tunes that somehow drown out the wild pulse of the nearby rave.

The Empress was at the rave (naturally!) and in her element. She was on the dance floor, and everything she touched seemed to glow and sparkling silver dust was left in the wake of every step.

Mallory stuck to one of the rave's upper alcoves for much of the night, listening to the music and feeling it in her blood -- feeling that and the cocktail of consumables that stretched out her senses and opened up her Sight. She was a mortal yet held court in the alcove like a fae princeling, guarded by Janel and Lavanya while she lounged lazily on silver-tasseled cushions and watched the rave from her high perch. As she sipped her drinks and let her Sight wander, a parade of dozens of glittering crimson moths streamed from an intricate series of cuts on her left palm. The moths flew out over the crowd throughout the night, dazzling the dancers and confusing those whose grasp on reality had loosened, and conveying much of what they heard and saw back to the witch...

The Empath would join the party, dividing her time between the dance floor and chatting with friends. She would enjoy tasting the variety of fae offerings and she would gladly dabble in the glitters and dusts, painting little freesia blossoms on anyone who would like after she had decorated her own skin with several shimmering flowers to match those sprigs woven into her hair. If one looked closely, the blue flames deep within her gaze would flicker and flare as her gifts responded to thrumming of music and magic.

Building off the success of his appearance at the Golden Gala, Vicki Remmington offered her assistance in dressing Bailey for the Underground Rave. Or rather, she offered up her protege Roshie Armin-Zadeh’s assistance once again. They were making a low-risk, (hopefully) high-reward bet on kick-starting Bailey’s modeling career again, playing off his current fashion industry reputation as an enfant terrible. Why else send him to a rave where copious drug use and debauchery was expected?

Even so, Armin-Zadeh’s outfit stayed within her usual bright and cute palette. The peach v-neck and v-back swing dress hit half-way down his thighs and tied off at the shoulders, leaving his arms bare. Sequins the size of polka dots studded every inch of it, emanating a disco vibe. She added some toughness to the look, which Bailey appreciated, by adding black tights and studded black Chelsea boots that split the difference between his usual combat attire and the more upscale boots seen on the runway. He kept the white brass knuckle bag from the Gala.

Anyone who managed to get within close proximity of him during the evening -- likely on the dance floor -- would catch a whiff of a crisp, somewhat flowery fragrance that soon drifted and shifted to something warmer and spicier. He was putting his prize from the Golden Gala to good use.

Finally, finally, something to do in this dullsville city besides work! The word rave tugged at the turquoise-topped Amazon like a trout on roe, so of course she was going to make an appearance.

Millicent had a little....Ereshkigal in her for the evening. Or Persephone. What you will.

Although she had not a clue what a rave was, you could say that Saila was drawn into the Underground by the energy of the place.

Of course Tahlia and Eddie were going to make an appearance - loud music and bad decisions were positively catnip to those two. Their outfits might have owed something to recent events, but they weren't much for explanations. For once, Tahlia was subdued compared to the regal outfit she hadn't had to cajole Eddie into wearing. Shells and pearls - and a pink and purple sapphire ring that never seemed to leave her finger these days, while Eddie was in ocean blue and gold with a trident that might be fake. Or maybe not. Best not test it. Or try to touch the pewter pendant that hung around his neck.

Meadow arrived in an entourage of Hollywood girls and immediately helped herself to the consumables. Twenty minutes in and it was difficult to distinguish one friend from the other as they danced in a veritable throng, a seething mass of girl flesh and twirling fingers. "I get why you live here!" exclaimed one as the other enthusiastically agreed, "we should move!" Meadow laughed, enjoying the way the lights blended together over head. She danced, she drank, probably she made out with more than a few people. It was hard to say who she went home with when, but yeah, this was definitely the kind of town a girl could get used to.
