Just a comment, if the OL Grant was traded away for a squire, I think the rule allowing a Renegade Baron to use a Warlord champion would also need to go away.
Given an either/or proposition (and having been unable to vote in the poll since I was out of town), I prefer the current OL Grant system. It's unique to DoS, and it allows more people to join in the fun related to challenges, as well as providing RP/story opportunities different from the squires.

I don't know about the extra fancy, I think two squires would be better, aside from that I agree with the rest.XanthVanBokkelen wrote:I voted for the Grant, because I don't want to see the Overlord lose that either. I also like the ideaof an Overlord having a squire, though. I think the Overlord should have one squire, who gets an
automatic fancy, and two fancies if the Overlord is present. I think that is a good compromise.
Yes!Delahada wrote:The Overlord's personal padawan should be called something else, if we're going to do it. Something significantly singular and special. Like... Knight.
9 if you let the Overlord have two, which is surely a good thing because then you get 9 low ranking duelers with added punch for their lower rank. 2 squires also levels out the argument of the OL's Squire's having more advantage over others because the OL is dividing their time between two people.G wrote:Then the Overlord doesn't need squires since the 7 Barons can have them.
It makes little point that the greatest dueler in DoS is NOT allowed a squire at all, and it's great you've pointed out how the Overlord has many benefits that go with their rank. You've not mentioned why they shouldn't have a Squire, though.
But it's moot since you won't entertain the idea of Squires and Grants.
Finally;
I'd like to know how a Squire is a Perk for the Overlord?
