So, DoS has role reversal, where all lower ranks can duel as Warlords and such.

DoF has No Losses.

With all these so-called complaints about how hard it is for people to gain rank, WHY am I hearing complaints about lack of duels and seeing no real increase in dueling?

Why are people not taking advantage of what we do give? And you wonder why some of us get so highly irritated by people complaining about how hard lower ranks have it.

Full. Of. Crap.

I'm seriously wondering the same thing. DoF is allowing for easy ranking and no one is exploiting it at all. DoS is giving you a chance to use fancies. I've been watching the duels all this month and only a few are using the DoS event to their advantage.. and sad enough? I believe it's mostly warlords - who aren't benefiting from it at all.

As for DoF? It was painful to see so many people not wanting to do it during the same day Matt posted the event notice.

I really have to believe this. If I see another person bringing up how hard it is to gain rank I'm pointing them to these two threads and saying "There, you had your chance."

Keep in mind it *IS* the holidays, and this *is* typically a low numbers month. (We have the reports to prove there's pretty much always a drop in Dec from Nov, with 2009 as the only anomaly from 2004 until now.)

I am sure there are people that would *LIKE* to take advantage, but just can't be online to duel.

ETA: I'd love to be jumping on this, but the best I've been able to manage is 1 night a weekend. Just too much going on through the holidays. So, let's cut people a little slack.

Understandable, if DoS hadn't been doing this an entire month, and if rooms didn't still have decent amounts of people in them.

And respectfully, haranguing people, or calling them lazy, probably isn't the best way to encourage them to come in and duel.

I will add that the holidays being what they are, it isn't too surprising that people aren't taking much advantage of the DoF part of things.

Ditto. My complaint I guess is more about the DoS side of things.

I would be interested in reviewing the DoS duels to see if the reversal changed the distribution of duels.

Did it encourage Commoners? Did it discourage Warlords?

To name names.. I've seen Marric, Rakeesh, Teagan, some Barons and Candy fight in DoS during the event. I'd have to dig into the records to see clearly how many warlords joined up. I dueled on 2 alts at commoner rank.

I've dueled about my normal amount. Which is to say at most 3 times during the event. I've seen a few Warlords. But I think I've seen more Commoners than Warlords.

Hmm, thinking about it, I am willing to bet the ratio didn't change at all. Still would have to really dig it up.

Kept the duels open way later tonight. Got a good number of DoS fights after I prodded some to duel. Was a good night all together.

My dueling has been cut out because it has simply been replaced by something else in RL. I also did not even see the DoF change until sometime Sunday. I am most certainly not lazy.

This. And if any of you hear me whinging about how hard it is to gain rank, I want you to use your psychic distance powers to punch me. I know it's hard, but I don't let it keep me down. I keep trying when I have the opportunity, which isn't as often as it used to be.
