June All-Ranks Tournament

Greetings, patrons of the Duel of Magic!

We've reached the mid-point of the cycle, which means its time for the All-Ranks Tournament! Anyone and everyone, even people not on the standings, can take part in this tournament, and everyone will fight on even ground! As always, all wins earned in the tournament will be added to your official records! And of course, there are nobles up for grabs! As usual, 2000 and a guaranteed rank increase for the winner, 1000 for second, and 500 for third! The tournament will take place on Wednesday, June 22nd, at 9:00 PM RST ((EST)). Sai will be officiating, and seeding will be done according to cycle rankings.

As usual, ten minutes will be given for pre-registrants running late, and walk-in entries, which will be seeded at the bottom. At 9:10, the brackets will be made, and the tournament will start by 9:15 at the latest. If all the pre-registrants show up, on time, the tournament will just start then. The tournament will be double elimination format, to allow for maximum win earnings and maximum ward testing.

Not only that, but the Tower of Earth will be offered as well, as Vince has vacated it to become Archmage! The winner will be given the opportunity to give up their tournament wins to become Keeper of Earth! Anyone can win this prize without worry of being stripped, as rank requirements to retain title have been removed, but do note that you can still be challenged!

Oh yes, and there's another twist. We will be using the new ward! That means that in addition to everyone being able to use the whole advanced tier, you can also reach into your reserves of power to pump up your spells! All duelists will fight at the rank of Magician for this tournament. ((In other words, all duelists get 3 focuses. If you still don't know what this focus hub-bub is about, see DoM4 Playtesting and Finalization Plans in DoM OOC.))

Bam! I was there! I saw it! And it was awesome! I could do a huge detailed write-up with every detail, but a picture is worth a thousand words!

Lem DeAngelo wins the All-Ranks Tournament! But Shadow, who came in second, is the one who elected to accept the Tower of Earth! And congratulations also to Ahni, who came in third!

Wow, that was easy. I should draw my write-ups from now on!
