Greetings from Japan!

Maetel "could" be a Mentor... but it would probably require a lot of RPing. I can imagine that it would be frightfully funny having someone try to understand just what Maetel was talking about half the time!

I love this idea! I now need to either win more or lose more!

Idea . . .

Post by Bran Bale »

Hypothetical idea . . .

We're supposed to have a Panther's Claw Tournament here sometime soon . . . why not give it to the "Mentee" that wins the Tag Team tournament? Seems fair if the Mentor is going to get an Opal.

Unless Moonberyl will be up for grabs too. ...am I the only one who grins at the thought of Locke with IceDancer and Koy with MoonBeryl again?

Anyhoo, I'm not sure how it's going to be done, but yeah, regarding pairing up!

The original plan was to have IceDancer go to the winning pair (if the Mentor was an Opal, the Mentee would get ID; if not, the pair would fight a single match to determine the holder). We're not quite sure how MB will fit in now that it's up for grabs as well; Kheld and I will work it out before Sunday.

How is it going to be handled if someone under the rank of Emerald winds up receiving IceDancer? My understanding of the rules (and correct me if I'm wrong) is that Opals are typically only available for Emeralds.

Kalianna was a Ruby (I think) when she won MoonBeryl in a Tag Team tournament, and was given until the end of the cycle to make Emerald, so it's not like it never happened. I just thought it would be easier to give the Mentee the Panther's Claw so everyone on the winning team gets a prize.

The Panther's Claw will be kept in a separate tourney (sometime in August) because this one's not open to everyone of Sapphire through Glass. As far as how we'll handle a non-Emerald gaining an Opal, we'll either go with a 90 day period to make Emerald or let them hold it until they lose it through challenge.

Updated list on page 1; we could use some more pairings!

Now that I am back I have offered to have an apprentice under me. Rena has accepted to learn anything I can teach her.

Thank you.

Artemus can mentor someone. Given he worked with Matt and Koy as well as captained Bran in the Iron Fist League, he's got some experience with different fighting approaches.
