The following story aired on Rhydin Sports Network’s Weekend Madness Roundup on Monday morning following the end of Round 1 of the 2020 Madness Tournament. It was accompanied by print and online versions of the same story in myriad media outlets, albeit with varying headlines. What follows is RSN’s online version.

From First to WORST: Myria Graziano Blows Up (and Breaks Down!) in Round 1 Catastrophe!

Less than 24 hours after the Blackguard stranglehold on Old Market imploded, Myria Graziano of the famed Wrecking Crew suffered an epic collapse of her own. Fans of WRC and especially those of Myria served as horrified witnesses to a meltdown of spectacular degree, both inside and outside the ring.

For those who haven’t yet seen the match replays or what happened immediately after, the following is what transpired.

The Annex held only a small crowd. Perhaps because hers was the only Round 1 Madness duel remaining, or perhaps because people were nervous of incursion by any remaining Blackguard forces , there weren’t many in the sporting venue and that includes other Wrecking Crew members save Lacey Tamarez who's now a full-time student and Maria, Myria’s older sister, who arrived just before Xiao shut the door on Myria’s tournament hopes.

Myria, adorned in Crew’s latest money-maker – a 2020 Madness Tournament jersey – along with custom 2020 Madness shoes, was doing her best to look the part of a 3-time finalist and 2-time Madness champion. Perhaps, though, she was intimidated (or attracted?) by Xiao. Even if this would be only his third fight in the sport (he entered the night with a perfect 2-0-0 record), with his raven hair, sculpted abs and intricate body tattoos, the man was a sight to behold.

Not since 2015 (then, too, as now, a 2nd seed losing to a 15th) had Myria been knocked out of the event in Round 1 and with all the pre-tourney hype, it seems like that was too much for the franchise's face to handle. From the outset, Myria was overmatched and, to add more salt to her wounds, Xiao fought without any weapons save his fists and feet (not even bothering with something like the sap gloves made famous by Billy Ray Karnafexx so long ago). In perfect position at nearly every turn, Xiao made quick work of the Crew's lone remaining entry in the 2020 tournament.

After the match, the real fireworks began when Myria verbally accosted her opponent:

::here, a embedded video clip was available. Those who played it viewed Myria throwing her rapier to the ground in disgust before approaching Xiao. Here, the camera view shifted to behind Myria’s left shoulder and featured Xiao’s face prominent in the frame; those present that night who may have overheard would perhaps notice that Myria’s words – most taken from that night but smoothly interspersed with others likely taken from past interviews – had been edited to something other than what she’d actually said to Xiao:

“Look man…take this shit serious. We’ve got a problem now, you and me. I ain’t kidding. I shoulda won this whole fucking tournament. I’m comin’ for you. Crew’s coming for you. You better watch yourself. We understand each other?”

Immediately after that display of terrible sportsmanship, Myria left the ring and in another shocking moment, collapsed into the arms of her older sister where she wept like a tantrum-throwing toddler.

Apparently done making a spectacle, the two sisters left the Annex with Maria, ever the enabler, attempting to placate Myria all the while.

But…the excitement wasn’t done yet! Shortly after the sisters disappeared, Ria Graziano, who hasn’t been seen around the sporting venues in months, rushed in to gather up Myria’s discarded rapier. She didn’t stay long, spoke to nobody and likely fled in order to attempt to mollify her sulky sister-in-law that much faster.

All in all, it was quite a night for these Wrecking Crew ladies…certainly nothing to be proud of. Organizers of the Madness Tournament must hope this incident doesn’t sully an otherwise wonderful first round, nor carry over into the second.

NEW BARON MYRIA GRAZIANO VISITS RAVAGED DISTRICT MINUTES AFTER WINNING TITLE

Rhydin (All Districts) – January 30, 6:12am – After what some are calling the longest single-night tournament in the history of dueling, Myria Graziano and partner Droet emerged victorious as Duel of Swords Tag Team Champions. Droet elected the Seaside Barony while Myria chose Old Temple.

Having learned about explosions in Old Temple and other districts earlier in the night, Myria immediately left the Arena to assess the damage. Joined by Ria Graziano, the two women offered their personal support along with that of Wrecking Crew Enterprises to Old Temple’s populace.
