Hello, everyone! Last week, I invited people on the RoH Facebook group and on our Discord server to discuss changes to the non-dueling IC settings currently offered on the server for live play. After looking at the contributions and what the voting process might look like, I decided to narrow it to proposed replacements for The Glade, an outdoor setting that has seen little use since it was created at the end of May. We already have an inn / bar setting and an outdoor urban / vendor setting, so I have highlighted settings that offer something a little different. The description of The Glade that we have in place right now is:
The glade is a large meadow in the woods near RhyDin, removed from the noisy crowds of the city but near enough to host the odd gathering. Bitter scores between rivals are sometimes settled here, but the land is magical and the scars they leave rarely last: smoldering craters become warm springs, broken earth fills in with cool streams, and the air is often filled with birdsong and the smell of wildflowers.
The following post will feature brief descriptions of the settings, but those that have formal descriptive text should not be considered final by any means. Discord allows us to use up to 2,000 characters in a single send, and whatever setting we choose will probably have a roughly 1,500-character description to be pinned as a message in the corresponding discord channel, in order to allow room to tweak the description and add other things.
I'm going to leave this poll up until this time Sunday. One vote per player and not character, please, and pick whatever you think will work best for us on Rings of Discord!
Proposal to replace The Glade channel on Rings of Discord

The Underground: Nestled beneath the sprawling cobblestone of new and old lies the underbelly of RhyDin. A labyrinth of unexplored and charted webways alike lies beneath the bustling thoroughfares and quiet alleys. There are a myriad of possibilities when roaming the tunnels beneath the historic city. Whether your path leads from the smuggling tunnels beneath the Golden Perch, or the black market bazaar beneath the marketplace, you're never too sure what you'll encounter on any given night.
This generalized underground setting was submitted by Spectre, with the above description pitched by him, with minor edits on my part. It could be completely open-ended, or more explicitly take the form of a traveling bazaar; it could be described as being accessible via specific means, like an abandoned subway entrance or a magical wishing well; or leave it to players' imagination how they get down there -- and find their way back to the surface.

The Atrium: Big glass dome. Indoor community park. Weather controlled, maybe by magic. A volunteer-run cafe inside. The community maintains it by putting in their spare time to "work" by keeping things pretty in the gardens, cleaned up, and litter free, and with donated treats like donuts, bagels, and coffee. Can be self-serve or NCP-monitored.
The above description was offered by Ehzoterik, and there was significant discussion of it in the Discord lobby. It has been compared to the Presidium from the Citadel in the Mass Effect series of video games in terms of being a large interior space with clean architecture, water features, and nature elements; alternatively, it could hew closer to something like Chelsea Market, with a building like an old train station or depot converted into a community center.

The Ivory Bridge: The Ivory is the largest bridge in the city, and the oldest. Over ages, it has survived storms and wars. And while its once white stones' beauty and shine has diminished, its ancient foundation has never crumbled. The bridge overlooks the center of the Old Temple District, where churches of all faiths stand together in close proximity. Many a public meeting takes place on the bridge, and many a secret meeting takes place in the dark shadows beneath its great arch. During the day, exotic smells from small food carts fill the air on the north side of the bridge, while bards ply their trade as they wander along the south side overlook. At night, many mystical lights illuminate the bridge, a gift from the Gods of Old Temple to the lovers and friends who gather there under the stars.
This setting was pitched by Donathin on Facebook, and the above description has not been edited. If selected, this setting would either result in changes to the existing City Square setting, or the Ivory Bridge's market features would be de-emphasized or removed.

Battlefield Grotto: An ancient shrine lies in this partially flooded cave beneath Battlefield Park, with a cool stream flowing along one side, and bubbling springs along the others. Portals flicker between the crumbling pillars in the center of the cave, including one to the Twilight Isle and another to Cadentia, while massive rune stones laid into the ground mark the path. A steady stream of travelers pass through here from RhyDin and places far beyond, and often use the ancient stone altars and benches for meetings. Further from the path, dark and narrow caves twist their way deeper beneath the mountains, while dwarf-hewn stone tunnels wind their way back to RhyDin...
I saw several requests on Discord for a setting that would continue to feature springs, as the Glade currently does, while still being a more nature-focused outdoor(ish) setting. I mocked this up as a way to integrate these ideas, while additionally linking it to the dueling settings in some way, though the same can be done for the other settings described above.
