When all of the food and supplies to be delivered were loaded into Reiko's car, she made sure it was running before stepping back inside of the Bistro for a minute. Finding Nicole, she poked her bubblegum pink-haired head through a doorway. "All right, I'm off, Nicole!" Reiko told the woman. Her head disappeared from the doorway as she made her way back outside to her still-running car. Seatbelt buckled, phone opened to the Maps app, and the list was clipped to a second mount that was next to her phone. With the first address typed into the navigator and the route started, Reiko took one last look at everything. She was quite careful, perhaps on the border of meticulous, and had used some of her own supplies to make dividers between each series of items - to keep them in the best condition possible. She thought it was genius! Alas, the Albino was off to the first person's house.

Mr. Louis. There's a note that he's wheelchair-bound and might need some assistance with the door. Reiko thought of the key ring that Nicole had given to her. As she'd taken it, she'd noticed that each one had a particular label which would only make sense to those who were supposed to have them in their possession. What she anticipated was possibly having to call ahead and let him know that she was arriving with his meals. That was how it worked, right? Provide the courtesy of letting someone who might need assistance know that they were coming in advance and introduce themselves? Okay, so some people might not find that necessary. "I'll just stick with knocking or ringing the doorbell first...call second after a few minutes," Reiko decided aloud to herself.

When she stopped at a red light, she took another look at the list that was clipped next to her phone. Five people were wheelchair-bound, one was legally blind, and two were hard of hearing. Another was bed bound and would have a certified caregiver answering the door for them. She looked away from the notes just in time for the light to turn green and resumed driving. Mr. Louis' house was a couple of streets away and to the left. Easy enough. Park in front of the house, make sure she has the right food for him according to the list, and ring the doorbell. That was her plan.

A bright, friendly smile was quite visible on her face when she rang the doorbell to the left side of the very nicely-designed door. Holding a bag that had Mr. Louis' food in it (Reiko had made a very quick side trip to the store to buy a bunch of reusable bags, because environmentally-friendly was the way to go!), the smile was still very much present a couple of minutes later when the door finally opened. "Ah, good morning! Mr. Henry Louis?" Reiko held up the bag.

"Why, yes, ma'am! Good morning to you!" Henry was also smiling when he saw Reiko standing there. She did her signature slight tilt of her head to the right.

Then she spoke up. "I'm Reiko Souma. I'm a new delivery driver from Nicole's Bistro...I've brought you your meals!" she said cheerily. The reusable bag was a solid light blue with thick handles to make it easier to pick up and carry. "The reusable bag is complimentary as well." With permission, Henry let Reiko step inside of the house. She placed the food in the indicated places that he wanted them to be placed and, after being thanked, bowed some out of politeness. "Have a good day, Mr. Louis!"

"Thank you! You too, Miss! Bye-bye now!" Henry was smiling as he waved. Reiko was still smiling as she returned to her car, her smile full of warmth as she situated herself in the driver's seat and continued on to the next house. If everybody was as sweet as Mr. Louis, then Reiko might have to start bringing a packet of pocket tissues with her.

Damn her emotions when it came to genuinely nice people.

15 Jul 20xx: Moving About

"Good morning, Mrs. Halliday!" Reiko greeted cheerfully when the door opened. The woman's large dog barked happily, his tail wagging as the happy Albino greeted them. It was a rather hot one outside, but Reiko didn't let that deter her happiness. At this point, she's gotten to know those who she's delivering to. With a happy greeting, a bright smile, and bundles of food (and pet supplies, based on who she was delivering to) in reusable bags, the woman had an established routine. Each morning started with a morning run and was followed by breakfast with coffee or tea, depending on what she was in the mood for. Then a sports bottle of water was filled with ice added and taken out the door with her. She made sure that she had enough reusable bags in her car, because pretty! One could never go wrong with reusable bags.

With the food and pet bundle delivered and placed in a spot indicated by Mrs. Halliday, Reiko bowed politely and wished her a good day. She could hardly believe that her community service would soon be finished, and without anymore extensions! Ah, but it was too soon to think about any kind of celebration as of yet. The twenty-forth was still a ways off, and Reiko still had a lot of work to do. She can think about celebrations after the twenty-fourth. Until then? She had driving to do and deliveries to make.

Reiko had left her car running for the sake of the air conditioner. She waited until she had driven a bit and had to stop at a red light before using a soft cloth to wipe the sweat from her forehead. It was that hot outside. Sips of water were taken as well to maintain hydration and, just to be sure, she looked at the monitor she wore around her right wrist. Her vitals were still holding strong, even though her temperature had risen some. She needed to start watching that and drank more of her water in the meantime. No fizzling out now!

Lunch time. Reiko had chosen a meal that was iron-rich with a salad for her lunch today, one that she's had before. Since Nicole had been more than generous enough to give the Albino the benefit of two meals on the house daily, why not try everything on the menu that was available to her? It was a benefit to not being a picky eater. Alas, she took her time enjoying her lunch today because of the heat, wanting to enjoy the air conditioning as long as possible before she resumed the deliveries.

Everything is so delicious...I truly am fortunate to have been given this chance by Nicole. Similar versions of this thought went through Reiko's mind daily. At the end of each work day, she even made sure to thank Nicole for everything. She didn't care if some thought of it as a broken record! It only mattered to her that she expressed her gratitude to Nicole daily. Each bite she ate was like paradise in her mouth, if there truly was such a thing as paradise. Maybe there was. Reiko was unsure if she had already found it, or if she was yet to discover her own version of such.

Texts were responded to whilst she had the time to do so. Of those who reached her by text, her nephew Haru was one who texted her most frequently. When she had finished her lunch, there were no more texts to be answered. It was back to work for her.
