Here's our peek behind the curtain at media, both in and out of character, that inspires our stories and characters.

The Playmates - "Beep Beep"

So, my dad had a tape of songs from the old Dr. Demento Radio Show, and this happened to be one of them. Like most of my more enduring characters, Bart was conceived originally as a 'side character,' namely a vampire-blood-addicted driver who just happened to be a mage; this song, though silly (or because it's silly), encapsulates a lot of Bart's atmosphere.

The Bart Fitzroy Soundtrack

Note: This is more a snapshot at the songs that best evoke the character's vibe, rather than what plays on his own radio.

LCD Soundsystem - "North American Scum"
  • This was my psych-up song when I'd start work on 'Ursa Major.'
The Breeders - "Cannonball"
  • Kid Bart's Theme!
Gil Scott Heron - "We Almost Lost Detroit"
  • As an American mage with heavy associations toward the automotive, there was no way that Motor City wasn't going to be a part of him. This is, thus far, my favorite Detroit song.
Inon Zur and the Lyris Quartet - "End Theme". Fallout: New Vegas
  • This makes me cry every time.
The Prodigy - "3 Kilos"
  • "Y'know, for when you wanna feel like you're in a Top Gear promo video... but hiiiiiiiiiigh as a kite."
Three Dog Night - "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)"
  • Morning After Song #1
Allah-Las - "No Werewolf"
  • Time Magic. Epilepsy Warning.
Bernard Herrmann - "Main Title (from Taxi Driver)"
  • Bart and Travis Bickle have only their occupation in common, but man... the driving scenes in the rain sure were a mood.
Bob Seger - "Against the Wind"
  • This is definitely a "Now/ Middle-Aged Bart" song, and I feel like it kinda reflects on his time as a ghoul, tooling around with Mona across the World of Darkness.
The Stooges - "TV Eye"
  • ... and this is Vampire-Blood-Addict Bart's Theme! :D
Queens of the Stone Age - "I Was A Teenage Hand Model"
  • Morning After Song #2. Headphones Recommended
