Orktoberfest 2020

North of RhyDin is a large Warg Carousel, colourfully painted with reds, browns, and decorated with fearsome imagery. The blinking lights summon you north of Battlefield Park to the boundary of The Wilds for the annual celebration of Orktoberfest, hosted by the haunting duo Bathilde "Batty" Bloodblade and Jester Jovar.

Hay Market
The celebration has taken over a working hay market, with the abundant hay bales serving as seating, low walls, and dividers, as well as the building blocks of a fortress-like hay maze that looms imposingly over the leaf-strewn path. Large checker-patterned beer tents run by Batty Bloodblade pipe out the smoke from central fire pits along with the thick aroma of orcish carnival food.

Battle of the Bands
Butting up against the old haunted orchard at the edge of the Wilds is a wide wooden dance-floor with bands like Green Danube, Bree-Yark and the Grovelers, and Stixil Styx's playing traditional goblin polka. After nine-o'clock, the bands give way to the loud and guttural sounds of ODM -- orcish death metal, colloquially known as "Oh Damn!" Famed ODM vocalist Fistmelda stands behind a makeshift bar of BadCider barrels, pouring fresh pints for the audience and the bands, who only leave when the last barrel stands empty.

RhyDin Center for Performance Arts
Returning this year is the red-and-black performance tent, where Jester Jovar hosts two grand shows in conjunction with Canaan Devillier of the RhyDin Center for Performance Arts. CarnEvil is a minor friendly performance of acrobats, jugglers, and contortionists. The Devils Circus at ten-o-clock has a darker theme where some scenes may be disturbing for younger viewers. Performance acts include the ladder, hand straps, trapeze, Spanish web, high wire, silks, knife throwing, sword swallowing, and the wheel of death.

Orktoberfest Hosts
With the disappearance of Master CarnEvil last year, Batty Bloodblade has brought Jester Jovar to help out with these years' festivities. You can Find Jester Jovar by the RCPA tent or helping out backstage with Fistmelda. Batty mingles with patrons in the beer tents and can give you directions to the nearest pumpkin patch in The Wilds. And of course, you can always ask our favourite ODM Vocalsit Fistmelda for a drink.
