Re: Drop A Line
A small, sleek, and and adorable dragon, a blue lake, about the size of a wolfhound, curled up in a few old blankets behind the counters of the Lyceum. It gnawed contentedly on a beef knuckle.
Of course Desdenova was behind this.

Text to Des: don’t worry about the chow. some of the KSR girls already have a lead on that problem

Re: Drop A Line
The text came in at an ungodly early hour at some point over the weekend -- Phil hadn’t yet adjusted to the time difference between RhyDin City and Coalhold. Either that, or he had straight up forgotten about it. It didn’t quite explain the strange characters included in the message...
Text to Boss Mallory: ✪$£龜?
Later in the day, an oddly all-crimson goshawk tracked Mallory down and delivered a message that had been rolled up tight and tied near their talon. When the message was removed from the bird, they flew a ways off, then vanished in a puff of red smoke -- a crude approximation of the summons that Mallory used on occasion. Oddly enough, the white paper smelled faintly and vaguely of cranberries.
* * *
Mallory,
Sorry for the garbled text and this letter that would probably be better as a text. I’ve texted family and friends in Coalhold before without much of an issue but there must be some sort of interference (multiversal/inter-realm/extraterrestrial) that cropped up. But assuming this message reaches you and is legible, it’s proof that I managed to open a stable portal from Coalhold to RhyDin and create a summon to deliver the message to you. That might be a safer way to deliver messages than depending on the phone manufacturer, cell phone company, and governmental satellites to not share or let our texts be hacked.
I’m sorry, I really let this message get away from me, when all I really wanted to say/ask was: how did the challenge go? Though I’ll be back on Sunday to call Gloria Blaze and Mairead Harker’s challenge, so I guess you could just tell me then if you're there for it.
Anyways, hope everything’s going well.
Regards,
Phil

Re: Drop A Line
It was not through a crimson moth that Mallory reached her wayward warlock, but through a scrap of paper that was clutched in his hand when he awoke on the morning of the 27th. There had been a dream of some kind moments before that, and a familiar coppery smell hung in the air...
Phil,
I’ve got at least a little while longer as the Overwitch. It was a close one — if you’re free, I can treat you to dinner before the match and catch you up to speed — and you can show me this new trick you’ve learned.

Re: Drop A Line
A bouquet of shaggy red mums, bright sunflowers, and brilliant blue larkspurs showed up for Mallory and Eri, along with a bottle of the Jolly Bird and a box of Mother Hazel's Special Brownies. Also a box of Mother Hazel's not special brownies because they were delicious and eating those would only add calories. They were easily told apart, the plain brownies were frosted in brown, the special brownies cut into precise serving portions and wrapped, frosted in green, of course.
The note with the flowers read:
"Congratulations on the start of school, and the first day of teaching. Here's a bit of relaxation for you. Love, Mist."
