SPRING ALL RANKS TOURNAMENT

[This Tournament will take place on the Rings of Discord discord channel. For the how to guide to join: CLICK HERE. If you join and would like help registering your duel identity (or if you find the guide confusing), feel free simply join the server and ask anyone with a green or purple name for help!]

One night only! Sunday, March 10th at 9:00 PM by the Eastern Clock, the Duel of Magic welcomes spellcasters of all abilities for the Spring All Ranks Tournament! Come out and fight at Wizard ranking for a chance to win one of several prizes.

You're totally interested more in the food and festivities than the prizes, I'm sure, but here's what we've got in store:

First off, all entrants who pre-register before 9:00 PM on Friday the 8th and show up by 8:55 PM on the night of the tournament will receive 1 win right off the bat. Unlike past tournaments where an activity duel was required prior to participating, the activity requirement has been waived!

First place: 5 Wins (or the number of Wins you rack up through the tournament, whichever is greater) plus your choice of one of the below prizes.

2nd-4th place: Earned Wins plus your choice of one of the below prizes.

Everyone Else: Earned Wins.

PRIZE POOL!

-3 Earth gems

-Rainy Day Date Package
100 silver gift certificate to the cafe at The Solarium, couple sized umbrella, and matching raincoats and boots. Choose from an assortment of colors.

-This hoppy bunny

-Mystery Box! What's in it? Well, you'll have to open it to find out huh.

[[OOC Info:

No activity requirement this time around. Yep, you read that right, NO ACTIVITY REQUIREMENT!

Format will be single elimination for greater than 10 people, double elimination for less than 10.

Seeding will be based first on RoK Rankings, followed by sign up or walk in time for those that don't pre-register. Gems must be used by the end of the next cycle.]]

Was reading about chronomancy and the time got away from me. Won’t be able to make it tonight.

Prizes:

Eden Parker - Hoppy Bunny
Michelle Montoya - Mystery Box - A remnant from the Ragnarok tournament - Ragnarok Infused Magic Orb ( Awards the use of a Mage Spell to the duelist. Immolation or Nether Ray. Used in Regulation for the remainder of the cycle. Note: Michelle selected Nether Ray )
Jay Capistrano - Rainy Day Date Package
Rachael Blackthorne - Awarded EF gems, however in lieu of the EF gems, the Tower of Earth key* was awarded in the wake of JC's retirement this evening. The 3 EF gems were split between the remaining participants and will be added to the standings (Royal, Candle, Eregor)

((*It was brought to our attention that there were concerns about how prizes were awarded during the Spring ART. Some took issue with a retired title being added in at the last moment, particularly that it was not announced until the prize (the Earth gems) had been picked. Please be assured that this was meant as an IC surprise, since the elemental gems came from the newly retired keeper, and not meant as a slight toward any participant.

It was never my intent to be seen as less than transparent, especially when it comes to something people look forward to like the prizes in the All Ranks Tournament. It has been a learning experience for sure so please know that these frustrations and concerns have been heard. Going forward, I endeavor to maintain a higher degree of transparency, particularly in regards to titles within tournaments. If you have additional feedback, I welcome it fully, so please don't hesitate to reach out on discord or here on the boards. Thank you for your understanding, participation, and patience as we work toward improving the sport for all participants.

-Claire
