Unlike the previous series of letters Bailey had delivered to Mist, Mallory, Andrea, and Hope, Bailey’s most recent message came with none of the trappings of the Archmage’s position -- no special envelopes, no goblin delivery person, no fancy stationery. Just a simple white envelope and equally understated paper, delivered by one of Bailey’s trusted statue proxies. The golem insisted the letter be delivered to Jewell within its eyesight, and rather stubbornly refused to leave until its task had been completed.

Dear Jewell,

I hope this missive finds you well, or at the very least, in better shape than I found myself in the aftermath of Beltane. The evening’s details become a bit blurry after I left the pyres, but I am assuming that, by the fact that I woke up alone, in the Citadel of Stars, fully clothed and with no blood or vomit on my person, I made it home safely to the Isle with no further incident other than that fearsome headache. It was good to see you that night, even in my inebriated state.

As much as I would love to continue to rehash that evening’s events, I fear I must be a little rude and cut to the heart of the matter quickly. I have business that I would like to discuss with you that should not be trusted even to letters, let alone phone calls or text messages. Only a face-to-face meeting will suffice. Do not worry, I do not plan on trying to kiss you or kill you, but I require absolute discretion in what I wish to discuss.

Please let me know if those terms are acceptable, if you have time in your schedule to meet, and if you have any preferences on a meeting place.

Tuesday at two-thirty at Hugo's south of the Marketplace. They have good tacos and carry Badsider.

It might be a little crowded because the nearby school gets out around then. I hope that'll be all right.
