About the Town Crier

The first things to know about the Town Crier folder are:

1. A new thread's post will appear on the home page.
2. Replies are disabled. The original post should link to another thread for ongoing discussions.

The second thing you need to know about Town Crier posts is that any BBCode or html will not be translated into the front page news. Line breaks are also extracted. Mostly this means that as much as we love the pictorial ads, you'll end up with nothing but the title of your submission and a hyper link on the front page if you don't add a bit of text to it. Oh, the text also gets truncated down to 300 characters.

So.. recommendation is: Write a sentence or three to go with your ad that can show up as front page news.

Please note that for this folder, the admin staff may go in an make edits to your posts. This will be done sparingly and only in cases where some aspect of your post is messing with the front page of the site.
