It's called Project Wonderful, and it really is very cool. In short, a lot of gaming and comic book and other websites use it instead of Google Ads. You create various flat image ads for your site, and then place monetary bids on temporary ad space on sites that use Project Wonderful for ad placement. Many sites allow you to bid $0 for up to two days, or until someone outbids you on that side. I use it for various projects and it's proven extremely successful for me. It's not cost me a cent, either.
I think that it would be a very effective, free way to get the word out about ROH. It takes up about 15 minutes of my time to place a ton of bids, and I do it once every 2-3 days.

They are in the business that ad blocker was created to undermine, so that's sorta to be expected. That said, even the sites frequented by the most tech savvy web users see less than 20% usage of ad blockers and most sites less that 10% - so it's a thing and sucks for people depending on ad money to support their business, but for what Rakeesh is suggesting, that still gets an ad up infront of possibly a good number of people.DemiBob wrote:My only comment so far is that I had to actually unblock Project Wonderful before I could go to their website because of my adblocker. I imagine anyone using an adblocker will not see any ads placed.
Paging through the list of publishers, it looks to be almost exclusively used by web comics, but that's probably not a bad thing for a site like ours, and some eyeballs are better than no eyeballs.
I think it would be a pretty cool thing to try and see what happens. Would probably want to do an audit of our welcome and informational materials before hand, just to make sure it's very clear what we do and how we do it.
