Re: Punk's Not Dead: Songs, Stories, and Sundry (OOC)
One of my earliest inspirations for writing Jay was the movie SLC Punk!, to the extent that I even used Matthew Lillard as Stevo for Jay's first profile photo here and over on RDI (it took a LOT of work to find one that wasn't all crazy pixelated in 2008). It had totally slipped my mind until I saw a couple of articles published recently that this is the 20th anniversary of the film's release. Vice published an article from actual factual Salt Lake City (adjacent) punks looking back on the movie 20 years later, and Billboard did an oral history with the film's director, two of the films stars (the actors who played Heroin Bob and Tish), and the film's music supervisor. I'm totally biased, but I think both are worth your time. Spoilers abound, as much as you can spoil a movie that's been out there for 20 years.
