Tonight I called the Challenge for the Tower of Fire and it was a hotly contestested series of matches!

Rachael wished to start off in Tartarus and wanted to waste no time in putting on a show! Before the details of the matches are given, I just wanted to say how stylish both of our fighters were this evening! Rachael was in a fiery red gown and Haru wore a sharply tailored suit and tie! So fancy, the both of them!

Things started off in Tartarus and got heated with Rachael taking an early lead! While Haru did manage to tie things up in the fifth round, 3 to 3, it was Rachael who closed off the first match with a the power from the Tower (Elemental Fury), and won 5.5 to 4 in 7 rounds.

Then in the second match, things looked to have been reversed with Haru taking an early and strong lead, but Rachael dug deep and climbed out of the hole and after a bit of a sea-saw battle in the scores, Rachael took the match 8 to 6.5 in 11.

Thus Rachael racks up a defense and Haru is left to try again another day. Congratulations Rachael and we look forward to seeing you challenging soon again Haru!

Last night on the Isle, I personally witnessed these two fire-wielding ladies bringing on the heat, and I am pleased to report they still had some sparks left in them tonight. Rachael Blackthorne successfully defended the Tower of Fire against Karma Armstrong, and tonight they met in the Outback to fight for the right to wield the Red Hot Opal known as FireStar!

As you all probably know this was best of three contest, as all Opal challenges are! The fights went fast, and they kept everything friendly. The first first match saw Rachael picking up point after point from the first round to the fifth where she latched onto match point, giving no quarter to Karma with a tally of 4 to 0. In the sixth round, Karma landed herself a point on the board and avoided a shutout! The sat on this tense footing of 4 to 1 for another round, until Rachael secured the final point in the eighth and took the first match win.

The second match started off with mutual punching, but Rachael immediately took the lead again in the second round. She took another point in the third, but Karma took one for herself in the fourth, keeping things close. They both scored again in the sixth, bringing Rachael to match point, but by round seven Karma struck true enough to put us at SUDDEN DEATH!!! Hesitation ruled in round eight, and finally in the ninth Rachael’s skillful gymnastics allowed her to take the final point and the victory!

Karma had herself a memorable sixty-nine day reign, and put up an admirable attempt at a defense! But the congratulations tonight go to double hot Pyro Master, Rachael Blackthorne, newest custodian of FireStar!
