A veritable army of women and children descended upon the Great Helm for the kickoff of the Taste of Rhydin food festival. Small pumpkins and other assorted gourds ringed by vines and piles of red and gold leaves served as centerpieces on the tables and bar.

Fairy lights twinkle from most surfaces – the edge of the bar, the banisters leading to the balconies and the windowsills. More than two dozen temporary booths have been erected for the event, made of wood and plain, ready for whatever banners vendors and presenters may bring. Most booths have been taken and decorated cheerfully, but several places remain available.

Various members of the Rhydin Celebration of Diversity Society scuttle around the Great Helm during the four hours of open booths.
