The terse letter of acceptance lay upon leCitadin's table, the waves of comfort and hope still radiating therefrom. Indeed, with these new prospects, Jacques left off his wallowing altogether. He first contemplated his broken clavichord and decided he could no longer abide its sorry state. He could ...

~Excerpt from a letter of one T.T. Noland to our committee~ Now, my last desire is to step on Master Ulson's toes. However, after reading his reports, I decided the topic was quite fascinating. This is not because I have a personal relation with the said Dr. Citadine (as Mr. Ulson does) but because...

Nova Adocentyn

~I, Iodor Ulson, have undertaken to write this description of the origin of Jacques Citadine, known variously as Iacobus Maris, Iacobus Civis, leCitadin, and Jacob. The information has been gathered by our diviners in the department, and we are submitting the information to you, our sponsors in Rhy...

Piano Lesson Canvassing

Upon his return from fighting a two-year legal battle in his home city, Jacques leCitadin returned to his flat in RhyDin to find it ransacked. Since RhyDin would now be his permanent home (he had lost the battle), he decided to become active in RhyDin's politics (even though that had gotten him into...

Academic Without an Institution

Upon his return, leCitadin discovered the flat had long ago been ransacked. He wondered whether any authorities had looked into it at all. Fortunately, those things of greatest value to him (the books, the clavichord, none of which appeared outwardly rich) were left behind, though in disarray. The c...

I have noticed the job "alchemist" is held by some members, but I have not seen it on the jobs list. Does this mean that no more slots are available or that it was discontinued or what?

As for new jobs...I notice that there aren't any academicians. Doesn't RhyDin need teachers, too?

Hmm...I had noticed that RhyDin weather was synching up oddly well with what was outside my window. We down here, in the suburbs, like to think of ourselves as Chicagoans, you know, so I was very proud to read that it was selected for RhyDin's weather.

A letter is sent to the Athenaeum... In these troubled times, many of RhyDin's once-great public institutions are dwindling. The RhyDin Magical Authority has no desire to recede into oblivion and is therefore truly dedicated to acheiving the goal of cultivating learning through-out the city. Unfort...

The RhyDin Magical Authority

Begun long ago by a long-forgotten Mayor of RhyDin... The original purpose of this tax-supported institution was to regulate the use of magic in the city of RhyDin, in order to defend the populace from rogue wizards, to defend wizards from themselves by imposing safety regulations, and to encourage...
