Re: And All Our Yesterdays ...

I love playing the classic characters from my childhood favorites! Aunt Em and Glinda represent the love and protective people that Dorothy has surrounding her. However, Glinda is also sending the message that one must take responsibility for their actions. Accidently or not, when your house falls ...

Re: Crazy for You (Theater Co.)

Opening night ... backstage at the Shanachie. I always get opening night butterflies, but it's before I hit the stage. Once I'm out there, I hit my marks and do my best to not miss notes or forget lyrics. It's a little odd to have my brother-in-law playing my father. "Someone to Watch Over Me" is a ...

The Little Mermaid is a beautiful, but tragic tale. So many people are used to the version with the happy ending that they don’t look beyond it to Andersen’s original work. To not be able to speak or sing in exchange for legs may seem like a bargain. She suffers greatly to be able to walk and to da...

Re: Tanabata in Kabuki Street July 11!

Finishing up her run at the Shanachie Theater's Summer Gala, Pearl joined Velen at the festival in a pastel colored yukata.

Re: Summer Gala (Ballet)

While she tended to dance formally in performances, the Gala was a time to cut loose and do her own thing. Pearl wore a loose fitting dress to allow her to move easily and took her violin along. Her bare feet moved lightly as she leaped and bounded across the stage like a flitting pixie in flight. (...

Tacked up on the board in the Green Room and dated 8 May 2020

Apologies for the short notice, Velen and I were handfasted last night in Cadentia during one of the Beltane celebrations. We will be away on a two week honeymoon. Be well and happy!

Re: Moulin Rouge - The Ballet

Pearl adored the Can-Can! It was one the most energetic dances ever created. Having been blessed with long legs was a definite advantage for this performance! She hooted and hollered along with others in the Corps as they cartwheeled, twirled, and kicked their way across the stage. Something about t...

I don’t talk much about where, no, when Velen and I came from. Telling people what their fate was when you knew them usually isn’t wise. My mother and some of her siblings took that step backward to, among other things, escape from a Rhydin that was burning down around them. What is that saying? Th...

Treasure Hunting

Velen and Pearl had milled around at the Ball, but left early. Pearl, still dressed in the white satin and lace gown, had a number of gifts hidden in places about their home and yard. Each gift had a clue to the next. Mostly, they were small and practical things like gloves, a scarf, a winter hat, a...
